Usual oil is unable to take in the pressure, and that is why you need the right one. It is also good to change oil filters as you change the oil.

Brakes

When it comes to brakes, they are easy to repair and maintain. They are just like the ones in cars, only that they are simpler. Besides, the bike is so small, and so you can handle the brakes on your own. It is easy to reach the levers and bleeder screws, all at once. This means you do not have to ask for help from anyone to push the pedal or bleed out the air.

All you need to remember is that the back and the front brakes are not related in any way. That means the bike has two independent master cylinders that you need to open. One cylinder is found on the handlebar while the other one rests on the further side, below the seat. Check to determine if the brake pads need replacement.

Tires

It is good to always check tire pressure before hitting the road. While on a car it is not always a must to check daily, in a bike it is a must. Besides, you don’t want your two-wheel machine to fail while on the road. It is good to know that even the tiniest pressure difference is notable once on bike tires. It affects the way the bike behaves. Even when driving at a slower speed, if there is a pressure difference that can be fatal. Make sure the bike has the right pressure always.

Also, check out for worn-out tires. The reason is that attire burst is fatal. To avoid accidents, replace the tires if you feel they are worn out. But, if it is pressure, add to the right quantity.

Filters

To access filters so that you can change or repair them by cleaning them, it is a bit tricky. The reason is that they are located on the lower side of the bike. Therefore, you must unbolt the tank on the bike’s head. After that, open the side plates, keep the seat aside, and finally open the air-box to get to the filters.

Drive chain

The best way to keep the chain in good condition is to keep it well tightened. With time it may stretch, and so always make sure it is not very loose. That is why it needs some adjustments. Also, by looking at the user manual, you will get the right information on how to do so. Also, if the chain rusts, try cleaning and oiling it for better performance. But, if it still produces bad sounds when riding, replace it.

There you have it. You don’t always have to take the bike to the mechanic for slight problems. With the above guide on how to motorcycle repair, you will easily do it on your own. But, if you feel that you are unsure of something, it is always good to consult an expert. All the best!
